Born and raised in New Orleans, my connection to this city runs deep. My grandfather dreamed of making his mark on New Orleans’ legendary culinary scene, and more than 50 years ago, he and my grandmother opened Short Stop Po-Boys inside a small neighborhood grocery store. What began as a modest family business grew into a beloved New Orleans institution and a lasting family legacy.
What meant the most to my grandparents was bringing people together. That spirit of hospitality became part of our family, and I grew up hearing my grandfather’s stories about the shop, its customers, and the people who made New Orleans so special. Those stories sparked a lifelong curiosity about the people, places, and history behind the city I call home.
My father further nurtured my love of history—a passion that has always felt especially natural in a city as layered and fascinating as New Orleans. After spending 15 years in luxury hospitality across the United States, I eventually felt the pull to come home. With the encouragement of family, friends, and fellow historians, I made the decision to become a professional tour guide, and I have never looked back.
Today, I’m grateful to share this city with visitors while raising a family of my own. As a husband and father of three, I carry forward the same appreciation for hospitality, culture, and the stories that connect people to New Orleans.
My goal is simple: when you leave one of my tours, I want you to understand New Orleans a little better—and, hopefully, love it a little more.
